Why add a friend or friends?

• They can write a recommendation for you on your profile(or vice-versa).
• You can matchmake your friends (and vice versa) 
• You can get a good idea of what someone is like from their friends
• You can go on double dates

Who is a friend/contact?

Anyone you know who you want to link to. Old friends, new friends, acquaintances, colleagues - people you've met here on this website. You can be selective or gregarious. Some people just list one friend who - someone who has written about them on their profile
 

"It's not what you know it's who you know"...

Adding friends gives your profile increased interest and credibility.  A lot of the worry about the whole Internet Dating business is as to whether people are real and what is their motive. If you're linked to a few reasonable looking people who say you're a nice guy then people are more likely to take you seriously.

Don't just think Internet Dating - think Social Networking! This is a great opportunity to interact with other people for your mutual benefit.

What can you do with this feature?

How do I add a friend/contact?

You can do this from their profile (where there is a link) or from the Friends page (press 'People' on main navigation bar). It is really good if you add a little description about your friend - so that people can at least tell if they're really old friends - or new acquaintances. 

I have friends who aren't members - what can I do?

You can also add non-member friends. Maybe they're up for going on a double date or to social events with you but can't be bothered to fill in a profile

Also you can then easily send them profiles of members to tempt them to join. You just need to add a brief description of your friend - so people know what they're like. Their email address is kept strictly confidential and is for your use only.

Can everyone see who all my friends are?

It depends. You have complete control over what your Friends gallery looks like and you can 'hide' certain friends. Your Friends gallery is the public page that displays your friends to other members.

Someone has added me as a friend/contact - what do I do?

You don't need to do anything.

If indeed they are a bona fide friend/contact of yours...
...it is a good idea to list them as a friend/contact in return . This makes them a mutual friend/contact - which is displayed when people look at your on friend gallery.

If you have never heard of them...
...then you may want to 'hide' the relationship by selecting the hyperlink
 

How do I know if someone has friends?

There will be a link on their profile. You can also search for members who have listed friends/contacts.

Any other cool features?

Checkout your Friends of Friends gallery to see who your friends friends are. This can be very interesting!
